Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada and is American. There are more than 20 albums that have been made available by her. Her songs are classified by the label as folk or alternative rock. However, they also have influences from hip hop, jazz, and punk. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy winner Ani DiFranco is considered to be the father of the DIY movement being one of the pioneers to establish her own label 1990. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in the city of Buffalo in New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who came across Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian origin, while her mother hails from Montreal. Ani diFranco composed and sang the track 32 Flavors. It is featured on the album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani diFranco. It was that was released in 1996. The soundtrack to 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a variation of this song. DiFranco apologized in 2013 after it was discovered that she had planned to host the three-day event in a Louisiana former slave plantation. It was postponed however, certain (including the news media) didn't consider it a gesture of regret. DiFranco released a new apology days later. The new baritone she got was a custom Alvarez guitar, designed by Chrys Johnston who at that time was working as an Alvarez Artist Representative. This guitar is made of solid wood, with an ebony top and cedar sides. The guitar also comes with an System 600 Preamp. DiFranco lives at home with her two kids in New Orleans and Lefty, their canine companion that is never out of the frame. DiFranco says she is ambivalent to the thought of looking at her career backwards, even if it's been over three years. Ani DiFranco achieved musical icon status as a singer/songwriter and punk/folk artist at 25, both among critics and fans, with Not A Pretty Girl. Dilate brought even greater success to DiFranco's music in 1996. "Brandy" (You're A Beautiful Girl) by American Pop Rock band Looking Glass is from the album Looking Glass.
