Randy Grimes, a Pentecostal minister and Angie Barker are his parents. Luke Grimes has three siblings who are with the names Racheal and Abby and a brother named Seth. Luke Grimes grew up with the strictest of religious families. He attended Dayton Christian High School. When he graduated from high school, in 2002 Luke was able to move from Dayton to New York City to pursue his goal of being an actor. In 2002, he was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he spent two years studying acting. His musical talents were also enhanced by lessons in guitar and singing.
